European Photonic Integration Forum (EPIF)

The integrated photonics landscape is buzzing. Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) promise to revolutionize a wide range of industries and are the core technology of many products and applications we are currently using everyday. With the start of multiple photonic chip initiatives, both on a national and European level, it is clear that the time to scale up photonic chip development in Europe is now.
To that end, JePPIX has joined forces with ePIXfab and PhotonDelta to bring together the PIC community and facilitate the conversation that needs to be had. On Monday, September 29th at 17:15, we organize the 16th edition of the European Photonic Integration Forum (EPIF). EPIF takes place during ECOC in room B4 M1-4 in the Bella Center in Copenhagen.
We encourage you to come and participate in a lively discussion around today’s relevant questions:
- how does the current technology push of PICs relate to the demand of end users in Europe, and what is our role in synchronizing these two?
- What motivates a PIC start-up to scale up their production capacity in Europe, instead of elsewhere?
- And what can you be doing to accelerate photonic chip development in Europe?
Please note that this year, it is mandatory to register for EPIF, otherwise you will not be allowed entry. You have until September 18 to register via this link: EPIF – European Photonic Integration Forum at ECOC Tickets, Mon, Sep 29, 2025 at 5:15 PM | Eventbrite.
Below you can find the complete program and the featured speakers and panelists:
- 17:15 – 17:30: Word of welcome by JePPIX & ePIXfab
- 17:30 – 17:40: Keynote by Sylvie Gellida (ST Microelectronics)
- 17:40 – 17:50: Wim Bogaerts (Ghent University) interviews Sylvie Gellida (ST Microelectronics)
- 17:50 – 18:00: Keynote by Abdul Rahim (PhotonDelta)
- 18:00 – 18:30: Kevin Williams (TU Eindhoven) moderates panel discussion featuring Sylvie Gellida (ST Microelectronics), Philippe Bolle (ESTEL), Ruping Cao (Luceda Photonics) and Abdul Rahim (PhotonDelta).
EPIF 2025 promises to be a fruitful and, at this moment in time, necessary event.
We look forward to seeing you there!
