JePPIX workshop at Photonics Applications week

  • Eindhoven University of Technology 1 De Rondom, building Cascade room 2.1 Eindhoven, NB, 5612 AP Netherlands (map)

Workshop Photonic Integrated Circuits for everyone and beyond(14:00 – 15:00) The workshop is an initiative of the following organisations: PICs4all / JePPIX / PITC at Eindhoven University of Technology. Register here

The workshop will give you an insight why, what and how Photonic Integrated Circuits will have impact in the respective industries and what it takes to develop these. It will not be a pure technical workshop.

“You might have already heard of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) before but don’t know exactly what this technology is about or you might be already familiar with this technology and would like to explore how to use it to solve your problem. In this workshop, you will find out what exactly PICs are, why they can be useful for many industry fields, where it is already been used today and how you can get started with this technology.

The workshop starts off with a short primer on generic photonic integration technologies and presents the JePPIX eco-system and how multi-project wafer runs reduces the barriers to use PIC technology. A few application examples are then described to illustrate the benefits of PIC technology. For many applications, further development effort is required to meet the end-user requirements which can occur in joint development projects. We illustrate a few example cases and ways to initiate new development projects.

At the end of the workshop, a short interactive session encourages attendants to explore their needs and if PIC technology can support them.”
