European Photonic Integration Forum 2017 organized by JePPIX and ePIXfab

The European Photonic Integration Forum is a one day event taking place on September 18th 2017 as part of the ECOC conference in Gothenburg. From 1230-1430 join us for a briefing and discussion about open access PICs platforms in SiPh, InP and SiNx.  Participation in this session free of charge. During the briefing you will learn about our developments with

  • Open access technology. The Process Design Kit (PDK) is at the heart of the multiproject wafers technology and provides seamless cooperation between designers, software developers, fabs, and prototype builders and one-stop-shop brokering.
  • Technology acceleration, enabling major advances in technology building blocks. JePPIX R&D focusses on InP and SiNx integration platforms and also hybrid combinations.

The JePPIX eco-system includes many businesses spread across process development, chip fabrication, packaging, software development, design and training and several hundred users and members. We have successfully brought the European InP photonic integrated circuit (PIC) community together as a coherent force to advance and promote technology.

ePIXfab will also be present. They are the European alliance of organizations that promotes silicon photonics science, technology, and applications. They have a  fabless model for the development of silicon photonic circuits based on existing photonics and CMOS infrastructure. ePIXfab members include top European players of the silicon photonics ecosystem.

Do not lose the opportunity to network with the experts and learn more about PICs for all. Please note that registration for our forum is free but required.

Note that the European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) runs from September 17-21st and is the main annual meeting for optical communication in Europe and one of the largest and most prestigious events in this field worldwide. It is a separate event from ours.

Photonics Event

In the international Photonics Event 2017  you can:

  • discover
possibilities to increase safer, faster and more reliable manufacturing through photonic technologies, applied to a large variety of markets.
  • increase your knowledge
about photonics that you already know such as light, lasers, lenses, microscopes, etc. However, there are many other applications, sometimes hardly visible, used in smart phones, computers, telecommunication, machine control, sensors, production tools, etc. every day.
  • meet
designers, developers and users of photonics-based applications, instruments, machines, equipment and services at the Photonics Event.
  • participate
in the PhotonicsNL conference that takes place for the third time as a parallel event of the Photonics Event.
  • create
new (inter)national partnerships at the Enterprise Europe Network Meet & Match Event organized by the Chamber of Commerce Eindhoven.

JePPIX partners will have active participation in this event

PIC Training Silicon Valley 2016

After the first successful PIC training last year with enthusiastic reactions, a second training is now being organized, this time on the West coast in Santa Clara, California. The training is one-stop-shop and covers all the material systems, whether Silicon, InP-based, or dielectrics such as TriPleX (SiO2/Si3N4). The training is supported by JePPIX as well as a broad consortium of companies and is hands-on as well as in-depth. For more info, please refer to the special website.

DATE

The date for the PIC training is the week of Monday Nov 14 through Friday Nov 18. This week was picked after checking in detail with interested trainees as well as the supporting companies for their availability/preferences. The program will start on Monday Nov 14 at 9 am and will finish on Friday Nov 18 at 3 pm so people can leave early and get a flight home on Friday evening.

VENUE

The training is held at Tektronix, Santa Clara, California in US-SCLA Training Room 229. Santa Clara is right in the center of Silicon Valley where many of the important high tech companies in the world are located. For example, Intel, Google, Infinera, Cadence, Cisco, Apple, eBay, Yahoo, and many others are all headquartered in Silicon Valley. In addition, Silicon Valley hosts many companies that are active in photonic integration.

Santa Clara is easily reachable via either San Jose (SJC) 12min or San Francisco (SFO) 45 min airports.

For any questions about the training or logistics, please contact Isobel Hoevers at isobel@7pennies.com or +1 (917) 833-3589.
